An effective Estate Plan reflects your current needs and goals and is in accordance with current laws.
Have there been changes in your family, such as births, new marriages, the loss of a loved one, a child’s divorce or a change in the relationship between you and a family member?
Are your accounts titled under your Trust?
Are you still comfortable with who you’ve chosen to serve as your Successor Trustee, Power of Attorney, Executor and Health Care Proxy?
Are the percentages you’ve allotted for your beneficiaries still in line with your current wishes?
Any of these changes could require the need to update your Estate Plan.
In addition to changes in your family’s situation, financial changes, and changes in the law, many of our clients are now also facing health issues.
Are you aware that long-term care insurance can have limitations (just like Medicare) which can result in families still having to pay out-of-pocket for what’s not covered? With an average cost of homecare on Long Island costing approximately $5,000 a month and an average cost of a nursing home on Long Island costing approximately $15,000 per month, Incapacity Planning has become a major concern for our clients.
Owner & Attorney Anthony Moccia will be reviewing important changes in the law relating to the various Estate Plans offered by our Firm. He will be reviewing some of the most common mistakes Clients make that can destroy the planning we helped put in place for them to begin with. He will be identifying how we help our clients achieve flexible tax planning and how we are able to ensure their assets remain protected if they’re ever facing the cost of home care or nursing home care in the future.
